How are you… Really?
3rd & 4th November 2025
We hope you found the event enjoyable, practical and of benefit. Our health and wellbeing is multifactorial and it's not easy to get them all right all of the time. We all have different pressures which can cause us to compromise on our own wellbeing. Try to make a few small changes: maybe those which appealed to you when listening to our presentations. Start with small, easy to implement changes to create new and beneficial habits. Don't think about stopping habits...think about creating new ones: it's a much more positive mindset. Regular progress is better than no progress.
We have created some quick and easy references to help remind you of key learnings from today. Please see them below under 'Resources’. If you would like signposting to more in-depth reading on any aspect of what you may have discussed, please email ben@7futures.com
All participants were made aware of the recording at the start of the session. If you have any concerns about the content please contact Gemma Douglas, gemas@bas.ac.uk

This session introduced interoception: the ability to notice and interpret internal bodily signals and cues such as breath rate, fatigue, hunger and emotional tension. Participants explored how interoceptive awareness supports self-regulation, communication, and performance under pressure. The session included guided techniques and simple practices that participants tried during the session and can apply in daily or field-based settings.
Explore the principles of structural integration and fascial health. Drawing on her deep understanding of how human structure affects balance and movement. Angela introduced participants to practical, fascia-based movements that support postural alignment, physical ease and recovery. The session explored how releasing tension in connective tissue can restore mobility, reduce strain and enhance long-term physical performance. This is valuable in roles that either require more sedentary tasks like sitting at a desk, or adaptability across varied physical demands in open environments. Further demonstration videos can be found by scrolling down this page.
Focused on the science behind fatigue, circadian rhythms and recovery, Aidan gave practical tools for improving sleep quality and sustaining energy across irregular routines. Participants learned how to align their behaviours with natural rhythms and use recovery techniques that enhance concentration and physical readiness: especially useful during intense work cycles or field operations.
Explore the behavioural foundations of psychological safety within teams. Colleen outlined what psychological safety is, why it matters in high-functioning environments and how it affects collaboration, learning and decision-making. Attendees explored common challenges and consider ways to contribute to a more inclusive and open team culture.
Matt explored the relationship between nutrition and mental health. Topics included blood sugar regulation, gut-brain interactions, and the nutritional foundations of mood and cognitive stability. He focussed on realistic and sustainable practices that can support wellbeing without requiring major dietary changes.

RESOURCES
These short videos build on Angela’s session exploring Structural Integration and Fascial Health. They highlight four key everyday exercises to support posture, mobility, and recovery.
Always listen to your body and stop if you feel any pain or discomfort. Before starting a new exercise routine or making significant changes to your current one, please check with your GP or another healthcare professional to ensure these movements are safe and suitable for you.
Practising these simple movements regularly can help ease tension and enhance long-term physical performance, whether your work is mainly desk-based or physically active.
