Sustaining High Performance


High performance is holistic, and the aim of the day was to show you how so. Many can perform to a high level, yet very few can sustain it - this is true high performance.

We hope you found this event of value, where we provided a combination of services including presentations and health measures. As you will have learnt on the day, our health, wellbeing and performance are multifactorial and interlink. Meaning, each aspect can have a positive or negative effect on one another. This is influenced by our lifestyle behaviours and choices.

For example, our resilience is affected by processing our emotions and stress. If we suppress our emotions, this is internalising the stress which can lead to a dysregulated autonomic nervous system, thus impacting our physical and mental health.

Our nutrition affects our psychological performance and our mental health. Through the gut-brain axis, there is bidirectional communication between them. Meaning your gut health can correlate with your mental health, and vice versa, affecting your mood. Poor nutrition can lead to a lack of clarity, poor concentration and focus, reduced energy, and make us more susceptible to poor decisions.

If you would like signposting to more in-depth reading on any aspect of what you may have discussed, please don't hesitate to ask. There isn't one book which pulls all our content together but there are great specialists out there on parts of it. We have compiled our own resources to try and help and these are explained further below together with links you can use to access them.
