How are you… Really?
3rd & 4th November 2025
As part of our commitment to support positive staff wellbeing and the benefits it can bring to the organisation and those we work with, we are pleased to announce the return of ‘How are you… Really?’, our wellbeing event led by specialists at 7Futures.
The sessions on the day are designed to support you as an individual and as a team. Along with interactive health metrics, they include:
This session introduces interoception: the ability to notice and interpret internal bodily signals and cues such as breath rate, fatigue, hunger, and emotional tension. Participants will explore how interoceptive awareness supports self-regulation, communication, and performance under pressure. The session includes guided techniques and simple practices that participants can try during the session and apply in daily or field-based settings.
Explore the principles of Structural Integration and fascial health. Drawing on her deep understanding of how human structure affects balance and movement, Angela introduces participants to practical, fascia-based movements that support postural alignment, physical ease, and recovery. The session explores how releasing tension in connective tissue can restore mobility, reduce strain, and enhance long-term physical performance, valuable in roles that either require more sedentary tasks like sitting at a desk, or adaptability across varied physical demands in open environments.
Focused on the science behind fatigue, circadian rhythms and recovery, Aidan offers practical tools for improving sleep quality and sustaining energy across irregular routines. Participants will learn how to align their behaviours with natural rhythms and use recovery techniques that enhance concentration and physical readiness: especially useful during intense work cycles or field operations.
Explore the behavioural foundations of psychological safety within teams. Colleen outlines what psychological safety is, why it matters in high-functioning environments and how it affects collaboration, learning, and decision-making. Attendees will explore common challenges and consider ways to contribute to a more inclusive and open team culture.
Matt will go into the relationship between nutrition and mental health. Topics include blood sugar regulation, gut-brain interactions, and the nutritional foundations of mood and cognitive stability. The focus is on realistic and sustainable practices that can support wellbeing without requiring major dietary changes.
Please note this event is available online for ship, stations and pre-deployment AEP staff and in-person attendance for people in BAS Cambridge Office.
