HSFD Work-Life Balance
Additional links to help each of the 8 concepts/tools
- Recognise the importance of being able to sustain your performance and your wellbeing.
- Give yourself permission to rest!
- The mechanism which enables this adaptation is the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS).
- On a daily basis this management can be enhanced with the simple concept of the cortisol cup: or your stress container.
- The quality of this ‘reset’ can be deepened with breathing techniques: in particular diaphragmatic breathing.
- Your most important work-life balance tool is your sleep.
- In addition to sleep quality, there are other essential recovery tools which help keep work-life balance feeling good. These include daily/weekly practices such as creating social time with friends and more strategic ones such as booking in holidays and having movement/exercise programmes.
- For managers it is important to manage the whole person and not just the work person.
