In the largest study of its kind, with almost 50,000 people taking part, the BBC Arts Great British Creativity Test - in partnership with UCL - explored for the first time how creative activities can help us manage our mood and boost wellbeing. The results are in… Trying new creative activities is particularly good for our emotions and wellbeing. The research found that getting hands-on with something new and creative is important regardless of skill level, it is the taking part that counts.

So, why not give something new a try?

Stylist magazine Taking inspiration from a survey of the UK’s favourite hobbies, Stylist have collated a list of creative ideas for you to try at home. There is also an article on the best craft kits that are available to buy online.

Gathered have been posting daily step-step guides to a variety of craft projects! From paper rainbows to easy-sew clutch bags.

Hold Still The Duchess and the National Portrait Gallery invite you to submit your own photographic portrait, taken during these extraordinary times, which responds to one of the following themes:

  • Helpers and Heroes

  • Your New Normal

  • Acts of Kindness

One hundred shortlisted portraits will feature in a virtual exhibition on the Gallery’s website and a selection of images will also be shown across the UK later in the year.
